relative key

A major and minor key that share the exact same notes, differing only in which note is home (C major and A minor).

A major and minor key that share the exact same notes, differing only in which one is home: C major and A minor. Because they share every note they share a key signature, and they sit at the same spot on the circle of fifths. Same seven notes, a moved center: this is the seed of every mode.
