More Progress
While I have been a little side tracked, I am still making progress on the game I am making, which I do not think I have described until now.
I am attempting to create, at first, a dungeon crawling game that emulates high stakes mmo like encounters in a pausable (sp?) real time environment. What makes it different from something like Baldur’s Gate is that the game can and should be at least partially driven by player written lua scripts. In other words, you do not directly control your characters, you write scripts that react to or predict AI behavior. The entire concept grew from my desire to have a playground where I could experiment with characters in an open world, the same way I did in 2001 with EverQuest and MacroQuest + ShowEQ (yea, I was one of those guys). I grew tired enough of waiting for someone else to make the thing and ambitious enough to start my first large solo project last year.
